SiteLock Initial setup

This is an overview which will guide you through initial setup and FTP configuration of your SiteLock account.
1Log in the Console (If you’re not sure how to do that, click here)User-added image
2Click on Website Security and Log into the Website Security InterfaceUser-added image
3You will be navigated to Accept Terms of Service page and then click on ProceedUser-added image
4When logged in, the page navigates to Configuration Alert - click on ConfigureUser-added image
5SiteLock FTP Configuration
  • It will then ask you to enter the FTP details

6In order to enter the FTP details :
  • Firstly check on which hosting you are on, are you on Cloud Hosting or cPanel Hosting.
  • Please see the link on the right  to locate the FTP details for both cPanel and Cloud Hosting
7The port number will be same for both Cloud and cPanel hosting

8After entering the FTP details , click on Test Connection : You will be viewing a similar screen

9WARNINGYou may encounter an error when you click "Test Connection" - click OK and then TEST CONNECTION again

10Once the details you have provided are correct then it navigates to the page below where it requests you to choose the Root Directory
  • Root Directory (this will always be the same) 
11Click on 
 To complete the setup , please click on the icon "This is it"
12Smart Settings
  • The next screen you will see is SMART Settings page, please click on the drop down box and ONLY choose "No, just warn me"

13In the above smart setting screenshot if you choose "No, just warn me" - which automatically SCANS the site and sends the report to your email accountThis option does not REMOVE the Malware coding automatically
14If you choose "Yes, automatically remove the malware found"This will remove the infected code from the site files


Exclusion Settings 

Use this section to control which files SiteLock should omit from the scan. In this section you will be able to exclude files by Type and Size. Below are the steps on how to manage exclusions

1. Go to Settings  

2. SMART Settings

3. Click Manage Exclusions

4. Choose specific files which you wish not to scan 

5. Click update
